From the planting of a seedling…

“People helping people” is the long-standing philosophy of our CEO, who grew up in a small farming community in North Dakota. From a family with deep roots in healthcare, it is no wonder that is where he has made his mark.

…grew the passion for greater good…

He took his passion for people and healthcare, and harnessed that energy into developing innovative technology solutions to help people and advance healthcare. And so an idea, and a company, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

…and thus, a start-up was born.

In 2005, he partnered with another local Twin-Cities professional in the technology sector to acquire the technology customers of a small medical billing company. Together the partners reorganized, rebranded and launched a new healthcare technology company: 7 Medical Systems, LLC.

The small, privately-funded start-up spent several years executing on a cloud computing based strategy and business model for small and medium healthcare organizations.

At the time, cloud computing in healthcare was in its infancy, and 7 Medical offered one of the first cloud-based, on-demand solutions for picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR). PACS and EMR systems were hosted in 7 Medical’s data center and delivered to hospitals, imaging centers and clinics as a service over the Internet for an affordable monthly service fee.

The seedlings flourished…

Due to high demand, on-demand PACS and hosted EMR adoption began to take hold among small and medium healthcare customers in the Midwest and across the nation. By 2007, the company expanded and launched its teleradiology solution for radiology groups and imaging centers.

…others began to take note…

In 2008, the company won the Minnesota High Tech Association’s Tekne Award for technology innovation in IT-Networking and Communications Infrastructure. By 2010, it garnered distinction on the Inc. 500/5000 and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s Fastest 50 privately held growing companies in Minnesota.

…and the history of innovation continues…

In 2011, the company continued its innovative trend by rolling out a radiology information system (RIS) for radiologists and imaging centers, one of the few RIS solutions to achieve EHR certification, thus enabling radiologists to become eligible for HITECH Act incentives.

…stay tuned for the next chapter.
