7 Medical Announces Second Year of Internship Program

Internship program supports workforce development for healthcare IT among college-level interns and recent graduates

MINNEAPOLIS—June 3, 2010—7 Medical Systems™, LLC, a leader in on-demand picture archiving and communication system (PACS), teleradiology and electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) solutions for healthcare, today announced the opening of its recruitment process for internships for summer 2010.

Started in the summer of 2009, 7 Medical’s internship program facilitates skills development for future healthcare IT workers. For summer 2010, 7 Medical will offer internships in the areas of IT and help desk support; network engineering; inside sales; accounting and operations.

“We’ve seen high demand for our internship program based on the sheer number of applicants who have applied and how quickly we are able to fill positions,” said Jason Studsrud, CEO of 7 Medical Systems. “We are encouraged by the high-caliber talent coming through, which is a tribute to the quality of the programs at Minnesota’s public and private educational institutions.”

The internships are designed to provide students with real-world, on-the-job training in a healthcare technology setting. Up to five part-time, paid positions are available with an immediate start date. In general, the internships require a minimum eight-week commitment.

“The internship program is a training ground for students looking to gain practical skills,” said Studsrud. “It’s also a great way for us to find and train the right talent as we grow our business. In fact, one of the interns from the first year of the program remains with us in a full-time, permanent capacity.” “I was very fortunate to find the internship with 7 Medical when I did,” said Jordan Knoedler, marketing assistant at 7 Medical. “Because 7 Medical is a small business operating in a fast-paced technology environment, I am exposed to a broad range of experiences. I am so thankful it was a good fit and that I was able to stay on permanently.”

Applicants must be pursuing a four-year or advanced degree and be registered at a Minnesota-based higher education institution. College-aged sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students are eligible to apply. Recent college graduates looking to gain on-the-job experience through an internship program are also encouraged to apply.
