EHRs helping or hurting the doctor patient relationship?

A recent study has found both negative and positive effects EHRs can have between a doctor and a patient. As some may have guessed, the older generation of doctors tend to see EHRs as a nuisance and a distraction preventing true interaction with their patients while the younger generation of doctors are more often finding them as a useful tool to help build the relationship.

It is almost always agreed upon that the ability of a doctor to communicate with his or her patient is extremely important. To find out how the use of technology affected this a study was conducted using the Four Habits communication tool.
