7 Medical Turns on Eight New Sites with On-Demand PACS and Teleradiology

On-demand healthcare provider Q1 2010 revenue up 69% over Q1 2009

MINNEAPOLIS—April 22, 2010—7 Medical Systems™, LLC, a leader in on-demand picture archiving and communication system (PACS), teleradiology and electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) solutions for healthcare, today announced that its 7i Imaging-on-Demand™ PACS and teleradiology subscription services were contracted at eight new sites in the first quarter of 2010, expanding US coverage into the states of Arkansas, Illinois, and North Carolina. In addition, 7 Medical’s first quarter 2010 revenue and net income improved by 69 percent and 137 percent respectively compared to the same period in 2009.

In addition to new hospital, imaging center and clinic sites, 7 Medical also saw a significant increase in imaging volumes from existing customers and for its 7i Connect™ interface engine. Five existing rural hospital customers used the 7i Connect™ service to integrate their 7 Medical PACS to their existing hospital information system (HIS) or EMR. The 7i Connect™ service exchanges key information including patient demographic, order, and financial information from a HIS or EMR system to 7 Medical’s 7i Imaging-on-DemandT PACS or teleradiology service.

“By automating data exchange between HIS/EMR and PACS systems, hospitals and clinics are able to improve efficiency and quality control by reducing medical errors,” said Jason Studsrud, CEO of 7 Medical Systems. “We’re seeing more requests for integration between PACS and HIS/EMR driven by federal mandates for broader EHR adoption and meaningful use. Besides the quality and efficiency benefits, tighter integration between PACS and HIS/EMR systems will provide structured data that will enable providers to have a more complete medical record and to report clinical outcomes more effectively.”
