Portals aren’t enough for successful patient engagement

Many believe the key to good healthcare is patient engagement. The conversation of how to successfully involve patients is one of great depth. According to a new HIMSS Analytics survey, many healthcare organizations are trying to improve patient engagement by going beyond just patient portals.

From the survey we find out that patient engagement tends to fall under other strategies and acts as a building block to help succeed other goals. It makes it tough on providers to have a graph out strategy for patient engagement when there are influences like meaningful use.
